Graduation celebrates a journey completed, a future filled with possibility, and a community united behind every SUSD graduate as they step forward ready for what’s ahead.

Senior year is a special time when many lifelong memories are made and graduation is one of the most important events of the school year.  Students, family, staff, and friends gather to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the graduating class.

Diploma Seals

The Arizona State Board of Education has approved two seals for social studies, one for world languages, and one for arts education. These seals recognize high school students who achieve proficiency in related coursework and complete additional examinations along with extracurricular tasks. Students are recognized with a seal on their diploma.

  • The Fine Arts Diploma Seal is awarded to graduating high school students who complete an Arizona Fine Arts Pathway and engage in creative industry-focused courses, extracurricular activities, experiences that foster fine arts mastery, and the presentation of a Fine Arts Capstone Project.

  • The Seal of Biliteracy is an award that recognizes a student's proficiency in two or more languages while in high school. The seal highlights the importance of being fluent in multiple languages within the academic community. The Seal is currently awarded in 36 states in the United States and continues to gain academic scholarly credit within the United States.

  • This program recognizes high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in Personal Finance at the time of graduation. Proficiency is determined by completion of a set of State Board of Education Approved Tasks.
